Scholarship Information

General Information

On behalf of the District of Columbia Chapter of the Accounting and Financial Women’s Alliance, we would like to present your students with an opportunity to apply for our annual scholarship. Annually, The District of Columbia Chapter of the Accounting and Financial Women’s Alliance (AFWA) offers an undergraduate/graduate scholarship opportunity for $1,500 for an eligible candidate. Scholarship awards are presented to students who have completed their sophomore year of college (or 60 semester hours or the equivalent) by the time of the application deadline and are majoring in accounting or finance. Candidates are required to have and maintain a cumulative college grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale or the equivalent. The scholarship for the Fall 2017/Spring 2018 year will be awarded in May of 2017. Scholarship recipients are not required to be student members of the AFWA District of Columbia Chapter but are encouraged to apply. Scholarship candidates may join the Chapter when they submit this application at www.AFWA.org/join. Scholarship candidates will be reviewed on leadership, character, communication skills, scholastic average and financial need.
