President – Jill Mitchell
Jill Mitchell is an Associate Professor of Accounting at Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA), and an adjunct professor at George Mason University. She chairs the Community College Advisory Board for the National Society of Collegiate Scholars and serves on the Board of Directors for the Virginia Society of CPAs. Prior to joining the faculty at NOVA, Jill was a senior auditor with Ernst & Young in Miami, Florida. She is a Certified Internal Auditor and graduated from the University of Virginia’s McIntire School of Commerce with an M.S. in Accountancy. She earned a B.B.A. in Management Information Systems from the University of Georgia.
President-Elect – Lindsay Sweet
Lindsay Sweet is an Audit Senior Manager in KPMG LLP’s Risk Management, Independence Group. She achieved her Bachelors of Business Administration in Accounting from James Madison University in 2004. She attained her Certified Public Accountant license in 2006 and her Certified Government Financial Manager license in 2011. Lindsay has been an active member of the AFWA DC Chapter since 2012 and has enjoyed her roles as Vice President in the 2015-2016 program year and Membership Chair in the 2014-2015 and 2015-2016 program years. In her spare time, Lindsay enjoys working out at True Health & Wholeness in Arlington, VA, volunteering with the Foundation for Women’s Cancer, and spending time with friends and family.
Vice President – Nicole Anderson McLean
Nicole Anderson McLean is a senior manager in the Federal Audit Practice of KPMG LLP. She has 7 years of experience performing financial statement audits of federal, state, and local entities. Nicole holds a Masters of Accountancy from the George Washington University, and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Richmond, where she studied in Journalism, French and Philosophy. She is a licensed Certified Public Accountant and Certified Government Financial Manager. Nicole joined the AFWA DC Chapter in 2014 and is currently the Vice President and Meetings Char. She is actively involved in the firm’s non-profit organization, KPMG Family for Literacy (KFFL), and is the Treasurer of her HOA board.
Secretary – Dawn Beatty
Dawn Beatty is the current chapter secretary and is a past chapter president. She is a senior manager at KPMG LLP, with over 13 years of experience specializing in financial statement audits of cabinet-level federal agencies. Dawn is a CPA, CGFM and CISA, and holds a Bachelors in Accounting from Shepherd University and a masters of professional accountancy from West Virginia University. She resides in Maryland with her husband and two small children.
Treasurer – Donna Kenney
Donna Kenney is a CPA with over 25 years of experience in public, private, and corporate accounting dealing with a variety of areas of accounting and finance areas. Donna graduated with a Bachelors in Accounting from Washington & Jefferson College. She has been the controller for Seneca Corporation & Acenes Technology Solutions, Inc. for the past 17 years. She is also a member of VSCPA & NVSCPA.
